Profile

The man whose career got off to a dream start when he produced a match-winning performance in only his second international game, Bilal Asif, is a Pakistani all-rounder. Asif made his international debut in the ODI series against Zimbabwe in October 2015.

He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his exploits in the final ODI of the series. Bowling his off-spinners, he took 5/25 and as the batting opener, he made a 39-ball 38 to help his team win the series. Asif's world though came crashing down after the match officials reported him for a suspected illegal bowling action.

He made his first-class debut at the age of 26 in 2011. Even though he had an uneventful first few years, a successful 2014-15 season with the bat saw him gain recognition in the domestic arena.

With the lack of off-spinning options in the national team, Asif, who had also taken 9 wickets in the national T20 tournament, first got selected for Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka in 2015. However, he couldn't get into the playing eleven and only made his debut against Zimbabwe later that year.
