Will Davis - England - Bowler

Will Davis' first-class debut came when he was 19 and playing for Derbyshire during the Tour match against the Australians, with his impressive pace and accuracy, Davis bowled a superb spell. The young pacer claimed wickets of Michael Clarke, Adam Voges and Peter Nevill in the contest and bowled nearly five maiden overs across the two innings. He was Derbyshire's leading wicket-taker in the match, which eventually ended in a draw.

Davis' T20 debut came against Pakistan where he represented Derbyshire once again in one of the Tour matches. Pakistan openers got the visitors off to a flier having stitched a 100-run stand only 10 overs and Babar Azam was the star of that match, with a century to his name. It wasn't a debut to remember as Davis turned out to be the second most expensive bowler in the match having conceded 40 runs in his allotted 4 overs. The only wicket he claimed was that of Faheem Ashraf; barring that nothing at all and Derbyshire was at the receiving end of a 58-run defeat.

Since he has started playing professional cricket, David has shown a lot of promise. He's only in his early 20s and age by his side and the talent he possesses, he can still make it big. In 20-odd first-class matches he has taken more than 60 wickets at an economy of 3.7 and his average that's around 30 will only get better - provided he puts a lot of hard work in his training sessions - focusing on the longer formats. He has been with Leicestershire since the end of 2018 season, but is yet to deliver his best for the county. Injuries have been an element of his short career, but you can expect him to deliver the goods for Leicestershire in coming days.
