Profile

One of the prominent members of the 2004 World Cup winning U-19 Pakistan side, Amjad is another classical example of a talent going in waste. The leg-spinner played a huge role in Pakistan's triumph and was also rated heavily by former Pakistan coach, late Bob Woolmer.

While his forte was leg-spin, Amjad also picked up his batting as he earned a place in the Pakistan 'A' side. His talent was in full display as he grabbed a 5-wicket haul against the visiting England team in 2005.

Greater recognition never came though as the wily leggie played just one ODI and one T20I before being discarded. In 2006, he signed up with English county Leicestershire but failed to impress.
