Profile

Fraser Colson started his career playing age group cricket for Wellington. A right-hand middle order batsman, Colson made to the New Zealand U 19 side for the 2008 World Cup - where he played alongside Williamson, Southee and Co. However, he took plenty of time to take the next step.

The first class debut came five years later in 2013 but his career hit a roadblock when he decided to take a season off in 2014-15 after playing just two games for Wellington. \"At the time I wasn't really enjoying my cricket,\" Colson told stuff.co.nz after his return the following season.

Colson started his comeback with a fighting 20, but a superb 97 soon after ensured Wellington stick with him. During his time away, Colson played club cricket for Wellington City, Eastern Suburbs and so on and scored heavily to get a recall.

Cricket is not the only source of income for Colson who has a steady job with the Ministry of Health.
