West Indies

Profile

A promising pacer from Barbados, who has been knocking the door of West Indies' national team for some time now. Part of West Indies' World Cup U-19 winning team, Chemar's entry into the tournament was a stroke of luck. Obed McCoy suffered an injury which prompted the selectors to rope in Chemar as his replacement. The youngster was straightaway thrown into the quarterfinal tie against Pakistan and he didn't disappoint. Not only did he start with a maiden, Chemar troubled Pakistan with his pace and also his ability to extract disconcerting bounce kept the batsmen on their toes. The Barbadian lad picked up 5 wickets in three matches and complemented Alzarri Jospeh quite well as the duo hunted in pairs to send shivers down the spine of the opposition.

Despite tasting good success, the pacer lost track for a while before making his FC debut against Guyana in 2018 and grabbed 8 wickets in the match including a five-wicket haul in the first innings. Although the match ended in a draw, Chemar was awarded the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. Since then, it has been no looking back for the pacer and he's been a regular member in the West Indies' A team. If he continues his form, a call-up for the national team is around the corner.
