Profile

From being spotted as a 6-year old prodigy to the whites for the Windies, Vishaul has had a bumpy ride. The left-hander started off his first-class career playing for Guyana in 2008. But it was not till 2014 that he realized his true potential to rack up the runs.

Vishaul was an early bloomer though. Aged 11, the Guyanese playing in a third class competition in Guyana scored a ton and subsequently broke Ramnaresh Sarwan's record, who had scored a ton in the same competition as a 14 year old.

In 2010, Singh toppled a 20 year old record set by Justin Langer for most runs in a season in the Kent Cricket League. Playing for Sandwich Town Cricket Club, the southpaw had four fruitful seasons.

But after he made a proper entry into first-class cricket post 2014, Vishaul climbed the ladder and made it into the fringes of Windies team. In 2016, he played Sri Lanka A and got runs. And ahead of the home series against Pakistan, Singh was part of a Board President XI side. He scored a ton and thus bolted the door of opportunity to stake his claim for a place in the Windies XI.

He became the 311th player in the whites to represent Windies but that joy was short-lived as he hardly made a mark in the series.
