Australia
Riley Meredith is an exciting right-handed fast bowler from Tasmania who can consistently bowl at a pace above 140kph. Blighted by injuries for close to two years, the Clarence speedster made his domestic debut at the age of 21 against a visiting Pakistan team in January 2017 representing Cricket Australia XI.
Meredith was a regular member of the Tasmanian set-up in the Australia Domestic One-Day Cup (2017) and went onto lead his team’s bowling attack in the latter stages of the competition in Jackson Bird’s absence. On the back of impressive performances in the shorter format, the rookie made his Sheffield Shield debut for Tasmania against Victoria in November 2017.
Having improved his bowling considerably since his domestic debut, Meredith made his BBL debut for the Hobart Hurricanes in the 2018/19 season. His zippy pace attracted eyeballs around the globe and in February 2021, Meredith was roped in by the Punjab Kings for the IPL. Later the same year, Meredith made his international debut in a T20I against New Zealand. Meredith was a part of the Mumbai Indians in 2022 and 2023.
