Profile

Delray Millard Wendell Rawlins is the first Bermudan to play Championship cricket. That being one of his stellar achievements, Rawlins revved up soon after with an eye-catching 107 not out and 2 for 46 on his Under-19 debut for England. From representing Bermuda at a very young age to becoming a key member of the England Under-19 side, it was quite a roller coaster ride for the batting all-rounder who initially emerged as a left-arm orthodox bowler.

Having spent most part of his teenage days at Bermuda cricket, an exciting offer in the form of a scholarship at St Bede's school in Sussex helped Rawlins gain some momentum in his cricketing career. While at school, Rawlins churned out a few noteworthy performances for Sussex 2nd XI in the 2016 English summer that helped him break into the senior side the following year.

Rawlins is gifted with immaculate athletic skills and is a typical bludgeon-er of the cricket ball. Highly regarded for his hitting ability, Rawlins relies on pace and accuracy as opposed to flight and drift in his early days. He also featured in a few games for Bermuda in the WCL Division rounds, but the constant lure to get better enabled greater chances and with that came great rewards. Although he played only six First-Class games by the end of 2018 English summer, the possibilities of playing more leagues across the globe and for England, of course, are aplenty.
