Profile

Amjad Javed is a bowling all-rounder for UAE, who made his ODI debut in the 2008 Asia Cup against Bangladesh. In the World Cup qualifier, Javed hit a swashbuckling 164 off just 117 balls as UAE romped to a 112-run win over Denmark. Later in 2010, in a List A game, he hit another aggressive knock of 89 off 59 deliveries against Bermuda, helping UAE achieve an excellent 134-run win. Not only has Javed rescued UAE because of his batting prowess but he has also been a handy bowler for them. In 2012, he finished with his best figures of 4 for 49 against Netherlands in the Intercontinental Cup. Later during the World Cup Qualifier, Javed blasted 63 off 31 balls to lift UAE to 246/8 and thus securing a narrow 13-run win against Kenya.

However, after making his ODI debut in June 2008, he has only played in a total of three ODIs so far. Javed made his T20I debut in March 2014 in the World T20 tournament. He, however, managed to score only 19 runs in three games and took just one wicket.

He was selected in the 2015 World Cup squad on the basis of his performance during the ICC Cricket World Cup Associate warm-up matches, where he picked up two wickets in two of the four games he played in.
