Profile

Courtney Kruger is a South-Africa born batsman who was a part of the Under-19 Hong Kong squad before becoming a part of the senior side. He has been playing cricket for Hong Kong from a very young age. At the age of 16, he made his debut playing in the ACC Fast Track Tournament in 2004. His World Cricket League debut came in the 2007 Division Three tournament, where he scored his first fifty. He made his Under-19 debut before representing the Under-17s and was only fifteen years of age at the time.

Touted as the next big thing in Hong Kong cricket, Kruger suffered a tragedy in 2007. Complaining about debilitating headaches and doctors discovered an abscess in his brain. Half of his skull had to removed for 3 months to relieve the pressure caused by the abscess which caused him to be bedridden for six months. However, he recovered to make his ODI debut against Pakistan in June 2008.

Although Kruger has not played much at the international level, he continues to play List A games.
