Profile

A skillful stroke maker with a fearsome reputation, Atharva Taide could be poised to be the next best thing to come out of Vidarbha cricket. Taide shot to fame in 2018, when he scored a triple hundred in the Cooch Behar Trophy final against Madhya Pradesh. The only other player to have achieved that feat, just a left-hander by the name of Yuvraj Singh. Post that triple, the selectors took notice as Taide was roped in to play the Emerging Teams Asia Cup in 2018. He has played across different age group levels for India, but missed out on the U19 World Cup squad.

Over the years, Atharva Taide has been a consistent feature in the Vidarbha side across all formats, and plays as an opener or top-order batsman. He has a game more suited for the longer format, and is very much a work in progress for limited overs cricket. Atharva Taide was picked by Punjab Kings in 2022 and retained for the next season, but is yet to play an IPL game.
