England
Kabir Ali hails from a strong cricketing family. His brother, Atif Ali, played for Hampshire and Worcestershire 2nd XI, his cousins also took to cricket with Moeen Ali being the latest star. He was a fine prospect at domestic cricket but struggled to come to terms with the tempo of international cricket. He was drafted into the English team in 2003 when England were in a rebuilding mode after losing their eight consecutive Ashes series.
He shone in patches but lacked consistency to establish himself at the highest level. The advent of injuries did not help his cause either. Overall he played a lone Test and 14 ODIs with modest success before being axed for good.
