Profile

Born on 24 August 1985, Mutizwa is a middle order batsman as well as a part-time wicket keeper. He had a couple of solid domestic seasons in the Logan Cup and earned a call-up to the national squad.

He made his ODI debut against Kenya in January 2009 and scored a fine 61 in his fourth knock. He followed it up with two more half-centuries against the same opposition later on in the year. This also included a career best 79.

Mutizwa carried on his good form in the 2009-10 edition of the Logan cup amassing more than 1000 runs at an impressive average for Mashonaland Eagles. It included a career best 190 against Mid West Rhinos.

He had to wait a couple more years though for his maiden Test appearance. It was a nightmarish debut as Zimbabwe crashed to a humongous innings defeat versus New Zealand. Sadly, that has been his only Test thus far. Having to jostle with the more gifted duo of Tatenda Tabu and Brendan Taylor, Mutizwa was shunted down the pecking order in the international arena.
