Profile

van Jaarsveld is one of the cleanest strikers of the cricket ball. He bats in the middle order and relies more on power than on technique. Playing for Lions in the first-class cricket, van Jaarsveld is a vital cog in the team. After having a strong MTN Domestic Championship: where he scored 487 runs in 8 innings with a strike rate of 111, van Jaarsveld was selected for the tour of Australia. He was there as a cover for Graeme Smith who was suffering with a tennis elbow.

However, he didn't get a chance in the Test team but made his debut in the ODIs, he also played T20Is but did not perform to the required standards. Since that tour he has been overlooked and a chance for a comeback looks bleak with the likes of Faf, Duminy, Miller making up the middle order. van Jaarsveld continues playing for Lions and keeps performing consistently.
