Morris Ouma

Kenya

Profile

Morris Ouma, a right-handed opening batsman for Kenya, later became a wicket-keeper for his side. He was a part of the Kenyan Under-19 team in the World Cups of 2000 and 2002. He also played in the 2003 Sharjah Cup and a year later faced Pakistan A and India A in a triangular series scoring 51 against India A.

Ouma participated in a 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh in August 2006. He progressively made his way up from being a lower-middle order batsman to an opening batsman. Owing to his consistent performances, he replaced Steve Tikolo in 2009 as the skipper. However, Kenya's constant decline was too tough a task for him and he stood down after the Intercontinental Cup tournament.

Surprisingly, despite stabilizing the Kenyan batting line-up, Ouma has failed to score a century so far. Over the last couple of years, his batting has suffered greatly and he has not been able to deliver consistent performances.
