One among the seven beneficiaries of West Indies' first XI going on strike over an acute pay dispute, Ryan Austin was picked in the depleted West Indies side for the home series against Bangladesh in 2009. He did not have much to show for both with the bat and ball in the 2-match Test series after which he was cut off from the setup.
However, Ryan Austin continues to remain a resourceful all-rounder for Combined Campuses and Collages at the domestic level.
