Devon Thomas - West Indies - WK-Batsman

Devon Thomas

Devon Thomas

West Indies

Profile

A keeper-batsman by craft, Devon Thomas was handed his international debut against Bangladesh in 2009 in the aftermath of the senior players boycotting the series over a pay issue. He had a bat in only one innings. Interestingly he chipped in with the ball, grabbing two wickets. MS Dhoni and Tatenta Taibu are the other players of his breed to have taken wickets in ODIs. He has figured in 21 ODIs with modest success. Moreover, the stiff competition from Denesh Ramdin and Carlton Baugh did not help his cause.

Recently he received a surprise call back for the last two ODIs against New Zealand but was relegated to the bench. He continues to be a handy multi-dimensional player for Leewards Islands and West Indies A.
