West Indies

Profile

A talented left arm tweaker, Ryan Hinds made his debut for Barbados during the 1998 Commonwealth Games at the age of 17. He rose through the ranks en-route to international cricket. His more than useful batting lower down the order also helped his stake his claim for an international call up. Ryan Hinds' ODI debut came in 2001 against Zimbabwe, where he did decently with the ball and guided West Indies to the finish line thanks to a steady 16* with the bat. The Test debut arrived the following year against Pakistan in Sharjah, where he covered up for his bowling failure with a fifty via the bat. However, with his form yo-yoing, Ryan was shunted in and out of the team before disappearing from the international stage. He last played for West Indies in the 2nd Test versus Bangladesh at Grenada in 2009 when the first XI went on strike over pay disputes.

He has been notorious with breaches of conduct and discipline. Ryan Hinds was stripped of the Barbadian captaincy after showing dissent to an umpire, who accused the former of ball tampering. In 2012, he was taken under custody for raping a 28 year old woman but was released shortly on bail.
