Hannan Sarkar - Bangladesh - Batsman

Hannan Sarkar was a Bangladeshi Tests and ODI batsman, who did not last long in international cricket after several inconsistent performances. After breaking into first-class cricket in the 2000-2001 season, Sarkar made his Test debut at the tender age of 19 against Sri Lanka in 2002. He holds the record of being dismissed on the first delivery of a Test match on three occasions. Interestingly, it was the West Indian Pedro Collins who claimed his wicket on each occasion in consecutive games.

Sarkar performed well against Australia, scoring half-centuries in both the innings and defied a strong Australian bowling attack. He fizzled soon after scoring only 5 fifties in 17 Tests. He played his final Test against New Zealand in 2004 scoring only 0 and 1. He suffered the same fate in ODIs, in which he had debuted in the same year. He scored only 3 fifties in 20 games. He, however, continued playing first-class cricket for Barisal Division until 2011.
