Mazharul Haque was a talented batsman who played age-group cricket for Bangladesh. He was a part of the Dhaka Premier League and one of the first Bangladeshi entrants in the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy in Australia in 1999. In domestic cricket, he played for the Dhaka Division.
He played only one ODI for Bangladesh in the 2002 Champions Trophy against Australia but continued playing first-class cricket until 2004. After that, he worked for the Bangladesh Cricket Board as a tournament manager.
Unfortunately, Haque passed away untimely due to a heart attack in April 2013.
