Profile

One of the smartest television commentators in the modern era, Pommie Mbangwa is quite popular for his Biblical mode of speaking, quietly confident with a lot of self confidence that forces you to listen. He's been one of the very few unbiased commentators around which has boosted his value in the cricketing world. During his cricketing days, Mbangwa was a medium pacer for whom accuracy and seam movement were the strong points. He used to clock moderate speeds at best, which was a key factor in him not getting much international success. While he enjoyed a fairly impressive Test debut, Mbangwa struggles on good batting surfaces against top batsmen. He was a product of the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. During his very first domestic season, Mbangwa got the national call up, as a raw teenager who quit the scene in 2001 with barely much cricket behind him.
