Profile

A product of the MRF Pace Foundation, Prabath Nissanka burst onto the international stage as bustling fast bowler, who could clock 140kph. He enjoyed a sweet ODI debut in the 2001/02 season, claiming 2-24 including a maiden in 8 impressive overs in Sharjah against Pakistan. Little did he know that things would go awry from then.

The next phase of his fleeting career saw him splay the ball all around the shop, gift wrapping hit-me balls to the opposition. He continuously failed in channelizing his energy towards the right direction. Not to mention, a cluster of injuries did not help his cause either. In fact those multiple injuries forced a premature end to his international bowling career.

Later on, he shifted his focus towards coaching. After completing a level 3 coaching course in Australia, Nissanka was employed by SLC as an assistant fast bowling coach.
