Pakistan
Zahoor Elahi's first-class career was in complete contrast to his Test career. A first-class career that spanned over almost three decades merited only two Tests, both in the same series against the Kiwis in 1996. The series was a deadlock at 1-1 but Zahoor never got to play again in the whites.
His two brothers also played for Pakistan - Manzoor Elahi and Saleem Elahi. Zahoor's ODI career saw him playing 14 ODIs but not with great success. Three ducks in the Carlton and United series in 1996/97 involving West Indies and Australia down under put a lid on his international career.
But that never deterred him from being a constant at the first-class level. A tryst which started in the 1985-86 season carried on till 2009-10. He ended up playing 249 first-class games and accumulated more than 14,000 runs.
