Profile

Born on December 11, 1983 in Lahore, Junaid Zia is the son of the former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Tauqir Zia. Making quite an impression at the junior circles, Zia was selected to play in the 2002 Under-19 World Cup.

A left-arm medium fast bowler, Zia has been praised by the former Pakistan captain, Aamir Sohail who called him one of the most hard-working bowlers ever seen. This promise though was not translated at the international level. He made his ODI debut during the home series against Bangladesh in 2008. In just his second match, he finished with impressive figures of 3/21. Two more expensive outings later, Zia was discarded from the team all together.
