Profile

One of many surprise choices in the Indian squad that visited England in 1982, Randhir Singh, played two ODIs for India. On the tour of England, he played in three first-class matches but failed to score even a single run. He was a right-arm fast-medium bowler as well, but he didn't get many bowling opportunities on the tour.

He made his ODI debut against England in Ahmedabad in 1981. He bowled six overs but stayed wicketless and was dropped from the side. He got another opportunity to play for India when he was called to play against the West Indies in the absence of regular bowlers like Kapil Dev and Madan Lal in 1983.

Like his first ODI, he bowled six overs in his final ODI at Guwahati as well. He gave away 30 runs and picked up the wicket of Gordon Greenidge. That was the last we saw of him in international cricket, but he continued to play domestic cricket. In 65 first-class games, he took 146 wickets. His List A career was 23 games long and he took 28 wickets at an average of 27.32.
