Geoff Allott

New Zealand

Profile

A left-arm quick, capable of genuine pace, Geoff Allott played just 10 Tests and 31 ODIs for New Zealand with injuries wreaking havoc. When in rhythm, the Canterbury speed merchant could swing the ball both ways.

He was the engine room of New Zealand's impressive World Cup campaign in 1999, where they reached the semi-finals. He topped the wickets charts with 20 scalps, most of which came at crucial junctures.

Allott held the dubious record for being stranded run-less for the longest duration before it fell upon Stuart Broad in 2013.
