Profile

A left-arm quick, who relies on inswing, Shayne O' Connor was an enigma. One game he would cause the ball to tail in and often generate extra bounce from a length, The very next game though he would spray the ball all around the shop. It was this lack of consistency which cut short his international career.

He figured in 19 Tests for New Zealand between 1997 and 2001. O' Connor was worse in ODIs, leaking over five and a half runs an over, which was then pricey. The recurrence of injuries did not help his cause either. He retired from cricket following the 2003 World Cup.
