Profile

An opening batsman by trade, Graeme Fowler, played 21 Tests and 26 ODIs for England with considerable success. His tyrst with international cricket came after 16 players were banned for the rebel tour to South Africa in 1981-82. Fowler's finest hour came when he built the first double century by an Englishman in India - his 201 came against the likes of Kapil Dev and Ravi Shastri at Chepaulk in 1985.

Fowler also shone in the 1983 World Cup, wherein he cracked four successive half-centuries to guide England to the semi-finals. However, his carrer was cut short with the reinstation of the rebel tourists.

After retirement from first-class cricket in 1994, Fowler turned to cricket broadcasting.
