England
A slow left-arm orthodox spinner, Nick Cook, played 15 Tests and 3 ODIs for England. He did not fare badly but lacked that attack-first approach. Cook was more used in a holding role. He began on a bright note, taking 32 wickets in his first four Tests. However it was only a a dawn of false hope as he managed just 20 in his next 11 Tests before being axed. After his playing career, Cook went on to become an umpire.
