David Capel

David Capel

England

Profile

David Capel auditioned for the England all-rounder role after the departure of the legendary Ian Botham but came up short after the initial promise. Capel was given his Test debut against Pakistan at Headingley - it turned out to be a horrendous start as he went wicket-less in England innings defeat to the visitors. Capel flickered briefly before being dumped.

After his playing career, he became the head coach of Northamptonshire at the close of the 2006 season. Later on in 2013, Capel was appointed Assistant Coach of the English Women's team.
