Profile

Born January 28, 1964, Gloucester, David Lawrence was tipped as a fine prospect with genuine pace. Little did he know that his career would meet a premature end. On the last day of the Wellington Test in February 1992, the right-arm fast bowler fractured his kneecap as he fell on the floor while loading up to bowl. The painful injury marked the end of his Test career. He continued to play first-class cricket until retirement in 1997.
