England
An influential batsman in county cricket, Dermot Reeve, struggled to come to terms with the tempo of international cricket. He played just 29 ODIs and even fewer Tests, 3 to be precise. He was an aggressive batsman, who waded into the bowlers, when in his zone. He was a fine leader as well, guiding Warwickshire to three of the four major trophies in 1994. Three years later, he snapped ties with Warwickshire, and landing a coaching position with Somerset.
Reeve also worked as an acerbic commentator for Channel 4 before a newspaper expose of his cocaine addiction prompted him to quit.
