Alan Mullally

England

Profile

A lively left-arm pace merchant, who was more known for his rigorous discipline, Alan Mullally began his cricketing career with Western Australia but then qualified to play for England since he was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Mullally figured in 19 Tests and 50 ODIs, taking 121 wickets put together at a frugal economy rate.

Mullally was a stronger force at a lesser level - capturing 708 first-class wickets to go with 362 List-A scalps. Arguably, he enjoyed a more profitable stint with Hampshire though he started county cricket with Leicestershire. The influence of Shane Warne at Hampshire elevated his game to a new plane. Plagued by an acute ankle injury, Mullally announced his retirement at the end of 2005.
