England
Steve James was one of those, who failed to translate domestic exploits on the international scene. A right-handed batsman with a good technique, James amassed 15000-plus first-class runs to go with 7040 List-A runs. However, he was unable to crack international cricket. As it stands, he played only 2 Tests in 1998, managing 71 runs in 4 innings.
He captained Glamorgan for three seasons before retiring in 2003 after spending nearly two decades with the club. After retirement, Steve James became a sports journalist, writing on cricket as well as rugby for the Sunday Telegraph and the Daily Telegraph.
