England
A tall quick bowler with the propensity to swing the new ball and generate extra lift, Jimmy Ormond was a thorough county professional. A string of good performances for Surrey saw him nail his Test debut against Australia at the Oval in 2001.
After his second Test, Ormond's fitness nosedived as he put on weight. It was this lack of fitness that promoted the then English coach, Duncan Fletcher to axe him. Ormond was never to return to the international scene but continued to do well for Surrey until his retirement in 2008.
