Profile

Kasteni is a left-handed top order batsman who has a sound technique and started his career with Midlands in the Logan Cup. He scored a hundred on debut and was drafted into the U-19 side for the World Cup in Sri Lanka. In 2006, he was selected for the Zimbabwe A side which took on Bangladesh A in a series of first-class matches. After being on the fringes, Kasteni made it to the main team, his first game was against Bangladesh and he scored 9.

He has been overlooked after playing just 3 games and has not been considered for the A tours as well. In 2008, he was chosen by the ZCB to attend a six-week course at Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. Around 2012, he decided to shift base and move to Canberra, Australia on a sports scholarship which would get him permanent residency and an option to play domestic cricket Down Under.
