Profile

A skilled seam bowler at his prime, Henry Williams will unfortunately remembered for the wrong reasons. He was part of the match fixing scandal that shook the cricketing world in 2000 that had illustrious names like Herschelle Gibbs and Hansie Cronje in it. Having barely played a handful of games at that time, Williams accepted to having taken money for underperforming and quite rightly, saw his name being stained forever. A six-month suspension ensued and he never got picked for the national side again. In any case, he was in his mid 30s during the controversy and it was always a difficult route back with age not on his side. Over the years, he became a force in domestic circuit with close to 400 wickets for them. After retirement, Williams took up the coaching role.
