England
A prolific batsman in county cricket, Mal Loye was one among those who failed to crack international cricket. He amassed more than 15000 first-class runs but came up short at the biggest level, managing just 142 runs in 7 ODIs before being sacked. As a few senior players were nursing injuries Loye was drafted into the team for the 2006-07 CB series. With Loye failing and Michael Vaughan back in the team, the former was ignored for the 2007 World Cup.
