Profile

Peter McGlashan played four games for New Zealand against India in 2009. He played as a wicketkeeper batsman after Brendon McCullum preferred to concentrate on just his batting. In his first ODI series, McGlashan struck an attacking 60 coming low down in the order but it was not enough for New Zealand to win as India romped home. With McCullum returning to his keeping duties soon after, McGlashan went out of favour once more. He remains an on and off part of the New Zealand T20 squad and his attacking batting makes him an useful part of the team.

McGlashan was not a part of the Kiwi side that went for the 2011 World Cup but remains on the fringes ready for a recall in case of an injury to the first choice keeper. He was in the 30-man squad that was selected for the 2012 T20 World Cup but once he was not selected, McGlashan decided to retire from all forms and concentrate on a foundation i.e geared towards stopping domestic violence.

Fact:His sister Sarah McGlashan is also a cricketer and an integral part of the Woman's cricket team.
