Profile

Mohammad Sharif, a talented Bangladeshi right-arm medium pacer and handy lower-order batsman, made his first-class debut in 2000. He entered the national side with a bang as a young 17 year old when he made his ODI debut in April 2001. The Test debut followed in the same month.

The start to his international career was decent but injuries plagued him thereafter and he lost his place in the side in 2002 and also shortly after the 2003 World Cup. After more than nine months, he returned back but it took him quite some time to force his way in the Bangladesh team. In 2008, he risked his career by joining the rebel ICL and was handed a 10-year ban by the BCB. He quit the league a year later but never played in the national side again. He, however, continues to play first-class and List A games.
