Profile

Nitish Kumar is a young Canadian batsman who has represented Americas Under-15s, Canada Under-15s and the Canada Under-19s. He is the youngest player to debut for Canada in first-class matches when he played in an Intercontinental Cup game against Kenya in August 2009. In February 2010, he also became the second youngest player to play ODIs at the age of 15 years and 273 days (the first being Pakistan's Hasan Raza in 1996). The same year, he was also a part of the Under-19 World Cup team.

When Canada qualified for the senior World Cup in 2011, Nitish became the youngest player to play in the history of the tournament. In the 2011 Under-19 World Cup Qualifiers, Nitish was Canada's leading run-scorer in the qualifying tournament, and 4th overall with 370 runs, including 2 tons. He had also taken 8 wickets in that tournament.

In the 2012 World T20 Qualifiers, he scored 57 runs in 44 balls against Papua New Guinea to help Canada to a 6-wicket win. He was Canada's second-highest scorer run-scorer in the competition. His first-class experience also improved in 2013 during the Intercontinental Cup games. In August that year, Nitish scored his maiden ton smashing an impressive 103 against UAE. In 2014, he was a part of the World Cup Qualifiers squad.
