Profile

An attacking left-arm bowler, Brian Vitori, has emerged as one of Zimbabwe's handy bowler from the current crop of youngsters. He started playing as a young 15 year old in domestic competitions. However, the franchise system formed in 2008, gave him the opportunity to improve and build himself as a better bowler. Under the guidance of former England player Monte Lynch, Vitori came to be a part of the national training camp in early 2011.

Zimbabwe coach, Alan Butcher, recognized his talent and trained him accordingly. Honing his skills from the prying eyes of the international world, Vitori made a fantastic debut in Zimbabwe's comeback Test against Bangladesh taking five wickets in the match, including a 4/66 in the first innings.
In his first ODI game, he took 5/30 against Bangladesh in Harare, the best bowling figures by a Zimbabwean player on debut, and the sixth-best overall. He also took a five-fer in the second match to become the first ODI player to take two five-wicket hauls in his first two matches. He was also the first player to be named Man of the Match in his first two games.

Fitness issues and questionable performances have kept him from being a permanent member of the squad in recent years.
