Profile

Roneel 'Ronnie' Hira, a left-arm off spinner made his debut for Auckland in first-class, List A and Twenty20 matches in the 2006-07 season. He also went on to play the under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006.

Hira's sharp fielding, all-around abilities and a knack of producing handy performances lower down the under make him an important limited overs players. He has regularly represented Auckland in the 50-over and T20 games. He was also a part of the Auckland Aces unsuccessful Champions League T20 campaign in 2011.

In the domestic T20 season of 2011-2012, Hira picked up 14 wickets at 14.85 setting up Auckland's successful defence of the HRV Twenty20 Cup. He finished the tournament as the joint highest wicket-taker and was the winner of the HRV Cup MVP bowling rankings. His consistent performance in the shortest format of the game earned him a place in the national side the following year.

Hira made his T20 international debut against Zimbabwe in February 2012. Unfortunately, Hira has not been able to replicate his domestic success at the international level as yet.
