Phil Mustard

Phil Mustard

England

Profile

A left-handed wicket-keeper batsman, who could hit the ball a long way, Phil Mustard was called up to the English side for the away ODI series against Sri Lanka in 2007. He was also picked for the limited overs leg of New Zealand tour. Mustard showed flashes of brilliance like his 74-ball 83 in the famous tied ODI at Napier but lacked consistency. His international career was checked to just 12 appearances.

He was more comfortable in the county circuit, scoring runs at a quick pace to the leave the opposition rattled. Mustard was named captain of Durham in May 2010.

His big hitting prowess paved way for T20 stints with Barisal Burners in the BPL and Mountaineers in Zimbabwe in the 2011-12 season.
