Profile

On the back of some exceptional performances in the Matador Cup games for Queensland, Nathan Reardon, an elegant left-handed batsman got a call in the Australian T20 team against South Africa in 2014. He failed in his debut T20 match at the Adelaide Oval and didn't get the opportunity to bat in the next one at Melbourne. Since then, he hasn't made it to the Australian team.

Reardon burst onto the scene with a thundering 147 against touring West Indies in a tour match in the 2009-10 season. In the 2011-2012 season he was the second-highest scorer in the Ryobi Cup with 403 runs at an average of 57.57. He has failed to replicate such form in the next few seasons and as a result he hasn't got the opportunity to represent Australia again. Of late, his performances have deflated in the Big Bash too. He scored at an average of 22 and a meager strike rate of 113 in the BBL 5 and played only two games in the last season. Besides Hobart Hurricanes, Reardon has also represented Brisbane Heat, Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash.

At the age of 33, an Australia call-up looks highly unlikely for the southpaw but that shouldn't affect his morale while playing for Adelaide Strikers. Away from cricket, Reardon works as a carpenter.
