Profile

Saqlain Sajib is an active first-class cricketer who made his debut for the Rajshahi Division against Chittagong Division in 2007 in the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea National Cricket League. He has also played for the Bangladesh Cricket Board Academy, Chittagong Division (in the T20s), Dhaka Gladiators and North Zone (Bangladesh).

In the Bangladesh Premier League, Sajib plays for Duronto Rajshahi. He whipped up a terrific performance for them in the 2012 BPL against Chittagong Kings by picking up 3/22 in a low-scoring thriller. In the semi-final of the Bangladesh Cricket League 2013, Sajib was playing for North Zone. He picked up 6 for 74 in the first innings and 4 more in the second against South Zone to help his team to the final. He was not able to replicate that performance in the final against Central Zone and North Zone lost the match by 31 runs.

Sajib grabbed headlines when he scalped nine wickets (31.1-6-82-9) in an innings against a touring Zimbabwe A side. In the 2016 WT20, when Arafat Sunny's bowling action was found to be illegal, he was flown in as Sunny's replacement. He had a forgettable T20I debut against Australia in Bengaluru. He was taken to the cleaners by Smith & Co. where his finished with figures of - 3.3-0-40-1. He continues to be a consistent performer in the domestic arena with 20 five-wicket hauls against his name.
