Malinda Pushpakumara is a Sri-Lankan left-arm spinner who first started playing for the Under-15 side. He was later a part of the Under-19 tri-series involving England and Bangladesh in 2005. He made his first-class debut the following year for Singha Sports Club. He was also a part of the Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, Lumbini College, Moors Sports Club, Saracens Sports Club, Singha Sports Club, Sri Lanka A sides.

He improved further with 2012 being a fantastic year for him. he picked as many as 56 wickets for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club in 9 first-class games. He has been successful for the Sri lanka A side as well. His consistent performances saw him being awarded the best bowler trophy twice by topping over 50 wickets in the Premier league for his club. He has over 350 first-class wickets so far.
