Profile

The name rings a bell. One that will have no prizes for guessing. Yes, he has been named after the maestro - Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Born a week after Tendulkar made his international debut, Baby unlike his idol is a left-hander.

Having made his first-class debut in 2009, Baby still averages in the early thirties in first-class cricket but has led Kerala in 40 T-20 games, the highest anyone has in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 tournament. It is again a no-brainer as to which is his preferred format.

Though his averages even in T20 cricket don't bring the roof down but gutsy runs in the middle order at a quick pace makes him an important asset for the team. His initiation to IPL happened in 2013 when he was picked alongside state-mates Sreesanth and Sanju Samson to represent Rajasthan Royals. But he hardly got a hit in the middle as he batted only once in the four games that he played in.

After being ignored for the next two seasons, the southpaw's services were bagged by Royal Challengers Bangalore. He got a decent run with the side and played some important cameos for them in the 6 innings that he batted in that season. But a heartbreak for RCB and Baby in the finale meant it was not a fairy-tale end for both. The next season again saw him being sidelined for most of the tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad picked him up for IPL 2018.
