He is the first player to represent India from Jammu & Kashmir. An all-rounder, who bowl off-spin and bats right-handed, Parvez Rasool made his first-class debut with his state side at a very age during the 2008-09 season. After impressing the state selectors, he was given the responsibility of leading Jammu & Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy.
He grabbed eyeballs with a stunning show in the 2012-13 domestic season and caught the attention of the national selectors. He represented India A in a few games before bagging an IPL contract with Pune Warriors in 2013.
A fruitful 2013-14 Ranji season meant he was in the reckoning for a place in the national squad. Eventually, after featuring for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL-7, he made his ODI debut when India toured Bangladesh in 2014.
Though he does not have many varieties in his bowling, his accuracy and the ability to get some drift makes him a wily customer. With age on his, it will not be a surprise to see Rasool get many opportunities.
