Profile

Swapnil Patil is an Indian-born right-handed wicket-keeper-batsman, who plays for the United Arab Emirates. He has also represented the UAE A team before becoming a part of the national team. He made his ODI debut in February 2014 against Scotland in the ICC World Cup Qualifier final. Playing in his first international game, Patil hit an impressive 99 not out. However, his heroics could not save UAE as they suffered a 41-run defeat.

Patil made his T20I debut against Netherlands in the 2014 World T20. He was the wicket-keeper in the three games that UAE played, but could not make any significant contributions.

He was selected for the 2015 World Cup squad even though, he has not been in great form after hitting that 99 not out in his first game. His current batting average is just above 35 and is expected to shore up the batting line-up in the World Cup.
